Directions from Nelson BC

Take Hwy 3A north across the bridge and east along the west arm of Kootenay Lake to Balfour. Here you will board the free ferry across the lake (approx.. 35 minutes sailing time) to Kootenay Bay. When departing the ferry drive straight up the hill for 1.3 kms, turning left on Riondel Rd. Tara Shanti is just 50meters from the turn on the right side. Interga Air also fly into Cranbrook from Calgary. In addition Interga can arrange charter flights into Creston.

Directions from Creston BC

Take Hwy 3A north from Creston along the east shore of Kootenay Lake, first passing through Wynndel and Sidar before emerging along the lakeshore near Kuskonook. Although a scenic 77 km drive the average speed will be between 60 and 80 kms per hour making this journey about 1 hour by car. There are numerous stopping points along the way such as the glass house in Boswell and Lockhart Beach to name a couple.

Flying

Cranbrook BC has the closest airport with daily scheduled flights from Vancouver (Westjet / Pacific Coastal). Fights from Calgary are currently not offered due to reduced service by Air Canada.

Cranbrook airport is about a 2.5 hour drive via Creston.
